How Workspace Sync works

Last updated on Jun 02, 2026

Workspace Sync connects to your Google Workspace, lets you choose what's shared, and delivers the directory to your team's phones. Three steps:

1. Connect Google Workspace (admin, one time)

An admin links the company's Google Workspace using a read-only service account. Workspace Sync can only read the directory — it can't change anything in your Google Workspace. See Connecting Google Workspace for the full setup.

2. Choose who and what is visible (admin)

In the admin dashboard you control:

  • Which contacts appear (enable/disable individual people)
  • Which fields are shared with the app (e.g. hide home addresses)

Changes take effect on the next sync.

3. Your team installs the app

Employees download the Workspace Sync app on iOS or Android and sign in with their work Google account. They immediately see your directory and can call, message, or WhatsApp anyone with one tap.

Staying up to date

Workspace Sync re-syncs from Google Workspace automatically every 6 hours, and an admin can trigger a manual sync any time. When someone leaves your Google Workspace, they drop off everyone's phones on the next sync.
