How syncing works

Workspace Sync keeps the directory current automatically.

  • Automatic sync runs every 6 hours.
  • Manual sync: an admin can click Sync Now on the Contacts page any time (for example right after onboarding someone).

What a sync does

  • Pulls the latest people and details from your Google Workspace.
  • Applies your enabled/disabled choices and field settings.
  • Removes anyone who has left your Google Workspace — they disappear from everyone's phones on the next sync.

Good to know

  • New hires appear after the next sync (or a manual sync).
  • Right after you change Google settings, allow 2–5 minutes for Google to propagate before syncing.
  • Employees' apps also refresh in the background, so changes reach phones automatically.
